Arrive at Paro by one of the most spectacular flights in the Himalayas, offering breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks. Upon arrival, complete immigration formalities and meet your representative before driving to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. En route, stop at Chuzom, the beautiful confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, marked by three distinct styles of stupas—Tibetan, Nepalese, and Bhutanese. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel. This charming capital city is unique for its blend of modern development and ancient traditions, and is famously known as one of the few capitals in the world without traffic lights. In the afternoon, visit the King’s Memorial Chorten, a revered monument where locals gather to pray and spin prayer wheels. Continue to the impressive Trashichhoedzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), home to one of the largest Buddha statues in Bhutan, offering panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Continue to the National Library, which houses a vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts and texts. Later, visit Simply Bhutan Museum, a living cultural museum that showcases traditional Bhutanese architecture and lifestyle. After lunch, drive back to Paro, a picturesque valley known for its rich culture, fertile lands, and historic sites. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and proceed for sightseeing. Visit the historic ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, once a strategic fortress, and experience a glimpse of traditional Bhutanese village life. En route, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples dating back to the 7th century. Enjoy a relaxed evening or take a stroll through Paro town. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, embark on a memorable excursion to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff about 900 meters above the Paro Valley. This sacred monastery is one of Bhutan’s most revered sites and offers breathtaking views along the hiking trail. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche meditated here after arriving on the back of a tigress. In the afternoon, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan, showcasing an impressive collection of art, artifacts, and religious relics. Continue to Rinpung Dzong, a magnificent fortress with a rich history and stunning architecture, accessed via a traditional covered bridge. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey. Your guide will assist with departure formalities as you bid farewell to the peaceful Kingdom of Bhutan, taking back unforgettable memories of its culture, landscapes, and spirituality.
