The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimages, taking devotees through four sacred shrines nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Revered as the Himalayan Char Dham, this spiritual journey covers Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, each dedicated to a different deity and holding immense religious significance. The yatra then continues to Gangotri, where devotees worship Goddess Ganga and pay homage to the holy River Ganges, believed to have descended from heaven to Earth.

The third destination is the revered Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and among the holiest Shiva shrines in India. Located amidst snow-clad peaks at an altitude of over 3,500 meters, Kedarnath is reached by a scenic mountain trek, offering both spiritual fulfillment and breathtaking Himalayan vistas.

The Char Dham Yatra typically takes 10 to 12 days and is undertaken between May and June and September to October, when the temples remain open and weather conditions are favorable. While Gangotri and Badrinath are accessible by road, Yamunotri and Kedarnath involve moderate treks, making adequate preparation essential.
