Arrive at Paro by flight, enjoying one of the most spectacular Himalayan journeys with breathtaking aerial views. Upon arrival, after immigration formalities, meet your representative and proceed to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital. En route, stop at Chuzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, adorned with Tibetan, Nepalese, and Bhutanese-style stupas. On arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel and relax. Later, enjoy a leisurely walk through the main street and local market, soaking in the unique blend of tradition and modernity in this capital city—famously known for having no traffic lights. After breakfast, begin your exploration with a visit to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), offering panoramic views of Thimphu Valley and home to one of the largest Buddha statues in Bhutan. Continue with visits to King’s Memorial Chorten, Textile Museum, and Folk Heritage Museum, showcasing Bhutanese traditions and lifestyle. After lunch, visit the National Library, known for its ancient manuscripts, and the Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students learn traditional Bhutanese arts. Later, visit the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s unique national animal. Conclude the day with a visit to Trashichhoedzong, the impressive fortress housing the throne room and government offices. After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochu La Pass (3,088 m), offering stunning Himalayan views on clear days. Continue to Punakha and visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, beautifully situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, take an excursion to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple, reached via a pleasant walk through paddy fields and local villages, offering a glimpse into rural Bhutanese life. After breakfast, embark on a scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the Punakha Valley and Mo Chhu River. Later, visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang (nunnery), a serene temple complex overlooking lush valleys. Continue with an excursion to Talo Village, known for its cleanliness, traditional houses, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. After breakfast, drive back to Paro via scenic river valleys. En route, visit Simtokha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s oldest fortresses and now a center for Dzongkha language studies. Upon arrival in Paro, check into your hotel. Later, visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), showcasing Bhutan’s rich heritage, followed by a walk to Rinpung Dzong, a stunning fortress known for its intricate architecture and historical significance. After breakfast, proceed for a memorable excursion to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang), perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the valley. The hike (approx. 5 hours round trip) is a rewarding spiritual and scenic experience. OR (Optional Excursion): Drive to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan, offering spectacular views of Mount Jomolhari and surrounding peaks. En route, visit Dzongdrakha Goempa, a cliffside temple complex often referred to as “Mini Tiger’s Nest,” with a relatively easy hike. Later, visit Drukgyel Dzong ruins and Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. In the evening, enjoy a stroll through Paro town. Overnight in Paro.
