About This Tour

This specially designed journey takes you through the most sacred sites associated with the life of Lord Buddha. From Varanasi, the oldest living city in the world, to Bodhgaya where he attained enlightenment, and further through Nalanda, Rajgir, Kushinagar, Lumbini, and Sravasti, this pilgrimage is a spiritual and cultural odyssey. Each destination reflects a chapter of the Buddha’s life and legacy, offering an immersive experience for seekers of history, faith, and peace.

Tour Plan

On arrival at Varanasi airport, you will be received and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to Sarnath, one of the most revered Buddhist sites, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Visit the Deer Park and the Archaeological Museum before returning to the city. In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at the Ghats, a soul-stirring experience. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Early morning, take a serene boat ride on the Ganges to witness the rituals of life and death along the bathing and cremation Ghats, followed by a sunrise that feels truly divine. After breakfast, explore the highlights of Varanasi including Bharat Mata Temple, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University, and the mosque of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Later, drive to Bodhgaya, the hallowed site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. On arrival, check into your hotel and visit the sacred Mahabodhi Temple. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

After breakfast, begin with a visit to the Mahabodhi Temple and surrounding monasteries. Later, proceed by road towards Patna, stopping en route at Nalanda, the ancient center of Buddhist learning and one of the world’s first great universities. Continue to Rajgir, once the capital of the Magadha kingdom, and visit Gridhakuta Hill (Vulture’s Peak), where Lord Buddha delivered several sermons and where the first Buddhist Council was held. On arrival in Patna, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

This morning, drive to Vaishali, a place of immense significance in Buddhist history where Lord Buddha gave his last sermon and announced his impending Mahaparinirvana. Highlights here include the Ashoka Pillar, Lotus Tank, and Chaumukhi. Continue your journey to Kushinagar, the sacred site where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. On arrival, check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit Kushinagar’s important sites including the Mahaparinirvana Temple, the Ramabhar Stupa, and various monasteries supported by Japan and Sri Lanka. Later, drive across the border to Nepal to reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and visit Ashoka’s Pillar, the Mayadevi Temple marking the exact birthplace of the Buddha, and the ruins of ancient monasteries. Overnight stay in Lumbini.

This morning, depart Lumbini and drive towards Balrampur. En route, stop at Kapilvastu, where Prince Siddhartha (later Buddha) spent the first 29 years of his life. Continue to Sravasti, once the capital of the Kingdom of Kosala and an important center of Buddhism. Here you will visit Sahet-Mahet, Jetavana Monastery, and other Buddhist temples. Later, drive to Balrampur or Sravasti for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Varanasi. Upon arrival, you will be directly transferred to the airport for your onward flight, carrying with you the spiritual essence and blessings of this sacred Buddhist journey.
