After checking out, you will visit the Anuradhapura Ancient City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient stupas and reservoirs, symbolizing the glorious Sinhalese Buddhist civilization. After spending about 2 hours here, you will transfer to Trincomalee. In Trincomalee, you will visit the Thirukoneswaram Temple, believed to be built by sage Agasthyar under Lord Shiva’s instructions, impressed by King Ravana’s devotion. This temple is unique as it was built by the lord for his devotee. You will also visit Lover’s Leap and enjoy a sightseeing city tour including other attractions in Trincomalee. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a hotel in Trincomalee.

After checking out, you will explore further attractions in Trincomalee before transferring to Kandy. Enroute, you will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest, best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. You will also visit a spice garden in Matale and have lunch. Upon reaching Kandy, you will visit the Tooth Relic Temple and enjoy a sightseeing city tour. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a hotel in Kandy.

Enjoy breakfast before exploring the beautiful surroundings of Kandy. Visit the renowned Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where rescued elephants are cared for and can often be seen bathing in the river. Continue to the lush Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, home to thousands of exotic plants, orchids, and towering tropical trees. In the evening, witness a colourful Sri Lankan Cultural Dance Performance, which is held daily at 5.30 PM., showcasing traditional Kandyan dances and drumming. Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.

After breakfast, drive through picturesque tea plantations towards Nuwara Eliya (2 hrs drive approx), fondly known as "Little England." En route, visit the sacred Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple, believed to mark the place where Lord Hanuman first searched for Goddess Sita. This temple is a key Ramayana site in Sri Lanka. Continue through breathtaking mountain scenery and tea estates before arriving in Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy a leisurely sightseeing tour of this charming colonial hill station. Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

On the sixth day of your tour, you will visit the Sita Amman Temple and the Ashoka Vatika, now known as the Hakgala Botanical Gardens in Nuwara Eliya. Afterward, you will transfer to Kataragama, a journey of about 4 hours. Enroute, you will visit the Divurumpola Buddhist Temple, the site where Sita underwent the famous fire ordeal Agni Pariksha to prove her chastity. You will also visit the Ravana Water Falls and Ravana Caves, though the latter is not recommended for senior citizens. Dinner and an overnight stay will be in Kataragama.

You will start the day with a visit to the famous Kataragama Temple, revered by Buddhists, Hindus, and local devotees alike, before leaving for Colombo. On the way, you will visit the Ussangoda Ramayana Site in Ussangoda National Park, believed to be a landing ground used by King Ravana for his Pushpak Vimana. In Galle, you will visit the Rumassala, associated with the legendary Sanjeevani Mountain carried by Hanuman and the historic Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will then transfer to Colombo for an overnight stay.

Your final day will include visits to the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo, the first Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his Panchamukha form (five faces), and the Kelaniya Vibhishana Temple. According to Ramayana, after King Ravana’s death, Vibhishana was crowned by Lakshmana, and this temple is located in the area he ruled. After these visits, you will be transferred to Colombo International Airport, marking the end of your 8-day Ramayana tour in Sri Lanka.
